Who is an MW Alumnus? Anyone who has worked at Muskoka Woods as an employee or volunteer during any of its year-round seasons of operation since 1979.
Why does Muskoka Woods Alumni Community (MWAC) Exist?
Embody. Encourage. Engage. The MW Alumni program began in 2005, as the desire for a connected community of MW Alumni became evident. Muskoka Woods Alumni exists because we believe that our alumni embody the fruit of the ministry of Muskoka Woods and exemplify the life-change experienced there. As such, we want to continue to encourage a connected community by supporting our alumni on their personal faith journeys as they endeavor to impact the world around them. We seek to do this through events, communication initiatives and MW community gatherings that engage our alumni and provide opportunities to share and participate in the ongoing story of Muskoka Woods.
Who is involved in the planning of Alumni Initiatives? The vision of Muskoka Woods Alumni Community (MWAC) is carried by a volunteer committee of former staff members, representing the span of MW alumni generations. As representatives for your particular time at Muskoka Woods, these committee members serve together to develop programming that engages and encourages all members of the Muskoka Woods Alumni community. The Alumni Committee functions under the leadership of the Alumni Coordinator, a full-time staff member with Muskoka Woods. In addition to the Alumni Committee, many of the initiatives of the Alumni program take place through the contribution of dedicated alumni, volunteering their time and talents on planning committees, at events or with MW operations. In order for the Muskoka Wood Alumni Community to grow and meet the needs of additional members and continue to support the on-going work of Muskoka Woods, we are constantly looking for alumni to volunteer their time and talents. Contact us to discuss opportunities for how you may get involved. How can I get involved? There are many opportunities to get involved. Check out our website launching Jan. 2008 for upcoming events, subscribe to the MW Alumni emailing list and receive our quarterly newsletter, share stories and photos from your time at MW and tell your story of Muskoka Woods to others. These are just some of the opportunities beginning to be offered through Muskoka Woods Alumni. program If you have other ideas for how you see yourself involved, send us an email at alumni@muskokawoods.com.
